Oratorios and concerts

Nina is also working as a concert and oratorio soloist.

Nina's first ever concert as a soprano soloist was with the Orquestra do Estado de Mato Grosso in 2006, in the Amazon jungle in Bolivia as part of the Bolivian International Baroque Festival. She had to step in at the very last minute (Nina was the principal viola player of the orchestra and hadn't sung since she was a choral scholar in her teens!) as the original soprano got ill on the day. She really enjoyed it, in fact, this event re-ignited Nina's love of singing and, when Nina returned to the UK in 2008, she found a fantastic teacher. Judith Howarth, and went back to studying singing, re-appearing again on the concert platform in November 2011 for her UK debut as a singer, performing Mozart: Exsultate, Jubilate with the Dunblane Chamber Orchestra.

Since then, Nina has appeared as a soprano soloist with amongst others, the Telemann Ensemble, Candandum Choir, Dunblane Chamber Orchestra, Paisley Abbey Choir,  and Stirling University Choir.  Nina also sings at a number of opera gala concerts and charity concerts every year, and has performed as a soloist in England, Scotland, Brazil, Bolivia, Italy, Sweden and Germany.

Nina also has a passion for contemporary music, and recently performed as part of the world premiere of "Invisible Effect", written by Platon Buravicky, choreographed by Kirill Burlov. It was written for the Baltic Centenary, and features contemporary ballet, accompanied by soprano, clarinet, cello and piano (and percussion, played by all of the musicians). It was performed at the Pleasance Theatre in September 2018.

I normally don't like to single anything, or anyone, out but norms have to be set aside on occasion. I really thought the Exsultate Jubilate was in every way exceptional, as fine a performance as I have heard in many a day, the soloist positively radiating charm and joy in the music such as to transfix everyone in the hall. Absolutely first class."
Sandy Sinclair, excerpt of a letter to the Dunblane orchestra after the performance
